BUSES: TENA - BAEZA - QUITO

All buses depart from the Terminal Terrestre (Main Bus Terminal) in Tena and go to the Quitumbe Bus Terminal in Quito. Allow 10 minutes travel time by Taxi from anywhere in Tena to the Main Bus Terminal. (Taxi to bus terminal is $1 USD). You can save 60-90 minutes getting to Quito by getting off the bus at the last bus stop before the bus detours south on the Quito bypass road to the Quitumbe bus terminal, at the Escala Mall in Cumbaya and hiring a taxi from there into Quito for about USD $10-12, or by catching the bright, green-colored public buses that go to the Rio Coca terminal in the northern part of Quito, and catching a taxi from there to your city destination.

Bus fare from Tena to Quito is now USD $8.00

Note: there is an obligatory stop to show personal identification (Passport/Visa or Cedula) and search of personal belongings and baggage at the GEMA police drug control point in Baeza.

Total travel time Tena - Quito is approx. 5hours. (Tena - Baeza is 2.5 hours)
